Why You Can Trust Us with Your High-Temperature Metal Gas Forming

gas forming

Here at American Hydroformers, we pride ourselves in keeping current with industry trends. That is just one of the many reasons why people to trust us with their high-temperature metal gas forming needs.

How the Process Works

In a process similar to that of hydroforming, a blank is placed into the die before the ends are sealed. Once this is done, the tube is pressurized, the material is fed into the die, and the internal pressure helps to form the tube. The high temperature maintained throughout the process leads to a more precise forming.

In other words:

Working the metal at elevated temperature changes essentially everything about the forming process. Because increasing the process temperature causes the metal to flow more freely than at room temperature, the metal doesn’t thin nearly as much as it stretches to fill the die cavity. It also doesn’t become increasingly brittle as the forming process progresses. (The Fabricator).

Thanks to the process of high-temperature metal gas forming, we are able to form stronger and more precise products.

Why We’re Trustworthy

Although–as our name indicates–we specialize in hydroforming, that is by no means our only focus. While we do boast some powerful presses, we also provide services in welding, tube bending, machining, and milling, as well as other aspects of pre-production and post-production work. Also, we are keeping current with Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and look forward to helping more of our clients unlock fresh potential by leveraging its power.

In short, with a handful of certifications and a full roster of satisfied customers, we feel confident in promoting ourselves as America’s Midwest hydroforming specialists.
